Our Story We're two young and creative professionals with a big dream--to travel for a year, starting in September of 2010. We've adopted the house sitting lifestyle because it enables us to save up for that trip. We began as house sitters purely by accident--we were normal, every day renters living in the top half of a house in Alameda, California. From day one of our move-in, our downstairs neighbors made it clear that they wanted to party. We, unfortunately, did not! We were considering our options for moving when suddenly, a house sitting opportunity fell into our lap. We considered it carefully. Would it be completely crazy to pack up the contents of our house into a storage locker and live as a house sitter, with no guarantee of a place to live thereafter? We decided that the only thing "crazy" anymore was to continue to live above people who blasted their sound system. It was after accepting our first assignment that the dream of traveling for a year was born. From there, we searched for and took on more house sitting. About Us
Both of us are quiet types (as you might have already figured out!). We're non-smokers (of any substance). We happily support local Bay Area organizations such as Challenge Day. We thank you for helping us to realize our big dreams! |
Andy is a print and graphic designer and illustrator. Originally from the east coast (Pennsylvania), he moved to the Bay Area in 2003. He has worked for a number of bay area firms, in both a freelance and salaried capacity. Personally, Andy is into yoga, meditation, illustration/design, and he is a member of the 
Kate is a Professor of English at City College of San Francisco and Chabot College. In addition to teaching, she is a freelance writer, portrait photographer, and life coach. Personally, Kate is involved with the San Francisco Writer's Group, meditation, and she studies Italian. You can learn more here:
